Estimate the job from the plans, not a spreadsheet.

Upload plan sheets or site photos — several at once — or just describe the work. The estimator reads them together and returns costed line items, scope, materials, timeline and risk.

Cost estimators by trade

Each one gives the estimator that trade's context, and adds a checklist of the scope most commonly left out of the bid.

FAQ

How does the cost estimator work?

Upload plan sheets, elevations or site photos — up to six, read together as one job — or simply describe the work in a sentence or two. Platineer AI returns a costed estimate: an overall range, a five-category cost breakdown, itemised line items with quantities, scope of work, materials, labour hours, crew size, timeline, risk factors and the assumptions it had to make.

Can I estimate a job without any drawings?

Yes. A written description on its own is enough — for example '400 sq ft rear deck, composite boards, 6 ft off grade, one flight of stairs'. Confidence will be lower than with drawings, and the estimator says so and lists what it assumed.

Can I upload more than one file?

Yes, up to six. Plan sheets, elevations, details and photos of the existing conditions are reconciled into a single estimate rather than estimated separately.

Is this a quote?

No. It is a ballpark for planning and for sanity-checking a bid, built on typical 2026 US labour and material pricing. Confirm against your own supplier and subcontractor pricing before you put a number in front of a client.

Can I keep the estimate?

Yes — copy it to the clipboard or download it as a text file, both without signing in. You can also have the full breakdown emailed to you.

Does it work for any trade?

Yes. Use the general estimator here, or pick a trade below to load that trade's context and a checklist of the scope most commonly left out of the bid — plumbing, decks, fencing, concrete, roofing, HVAC, flooring, painting, siding, bathrooms, kitchens and pergolas.
